Born and raised in the Quad Cities, my love for art started at a very early age, Some of my first memories were drawing pictures for my grandparents, as my grandma made breakfast for the family and my grandpa watched the morning news. Seeing the joy and pride they took in their love for gardening always instilled in me to enjoy the things that make me happy which is creating my art, no matter how hard it is to live off of, it is something that I can share with people rich or poor. Living in Iowa and Illinois gives you two sides to the story from the flat plains of Iowa to the urban cityscape of Chicago. There's something unique in the differences. Being able to experience both cultures in my life is something I would never trade. But the greatest influence by living in a river town would have to be that charming, filthy, beautiful, tainted, Mississippi River. After graduating from Moline High School, I was accepted at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Feeling that MIAD was not the place for me to be in my life at that point, I decided to leave and return to Davenport, IA. Where from that point on I have been living and creating my art. My art is focused on the playful yet eerily creepy, the madness of violence and the beauty of it. I have a need to create things that aren’t pleasant to the eye but pleasant to the experience one might have when viewing the work. Any opinions or critiques on my work by anyone would be greatly appreciated. Please email me with any thoughts To view more work visit my website at www.artbootdrink.blogspot.com More...
