Bursting with joyous color and layered abstract forms, Mary Zeran’s pieces are celebrations of rhythm, and motion. Her mixed media compositions focus her explorations into emotions, nature, and what it means to be human.
Ms Zeran has exhibited nationally at galleries in New York, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Alternative spaces include SOIL Gallery in Seattle, COCA, in Seattle, and Oregon College of Arts and Crafts in Portland. Gallery activity includes Weiderspan Gallery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and The Chait Galleries in Iowa City. She has been reviewed in many publications including Artweek, The New Art Examiner, and The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Her works can be found in the permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The University of Iowa, and The University of Iowa Hospitals.
Zeran received her MFA from the University of Iowa.
She currently resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with her husband.
